Shield Sights is the longest running manufacturer of micro red sights for handguns like the Glock 43X. Currently, the company offers two basic models: RMSc and SMSc.
Built in England, the RMSc has an aluminum frame with a polymer lens to view the red dot. Shield Sights does not list the type of aluminum it uses in the frame.
Shield Sights uses an anti-reflective coating on the lens to reduce glare when aiming the G43X. Polymer lenses are used in many reflex targets and keep manufacturing costs low. However, some people report that the lenses are more susceptible to scratches.
You can buy this scope with a 4 MOA or 8 MOA dot. I prefer 4 MOA, but 8 MOA really jumps out at you. A larger point isn't a bad choice for close defensive shooting, so choose what you think works best.

The Shield does not recognize how many brightness levels the target can use. Instead, the point is automatically adjusted according to the lighting conditions.
Shield offers a 7-year warranty on the RMSc electronics and a lifetime warranty on other components.
As Shield is an English company, direct purchases from the company require a currency conversion from US dollars to British pounds. In addition, purchases are subject to value added tax or value added tax. At the time of writing, the target's RRP is £300 before VAT. Shield has also reworked the lens. Now you can get a polymer lens with a special hard quartz coating that increases durability and scratch resistance. You can also completely replace the polymer lens with a glass lens.
As with the RMSc, the SMSc is an always-on sight with automatic brightness adjustment. When mounted on your Glock pistol, the sensor measures the ambient light and changes the relative brightness of the red dot.
The SMSc can be purchased with a 4 MOA or 8 MOA reticle. It has the same 7 year/unlimited warranty as RMSc.
With a quartz-coated polymer lens, the SMSc has an MSRP including VAT of $346.85. The glass lens upgrade costs an additional $126.13, for a total of $472.98. Coincidentally, it is the same price as RMSc.

If you don't know, SIG SAUER is now an optics manufacturer. The company manufactures everything from telescopes to high-powered telescopes. One of their most recent additions is the Romeo Zero RDS, which fits the Glock 43X and other slim pistols.
Romeo Zero is made of polymer body and lens. This lends itself to being light - about 0.4 ounces according to the company's specifications.
For durability, we much prefer aluminum frames 6061 or 7075. However, polymer has proven to be a durable material in gun parts. I also like the glass lens. However, polymer is a proven material for optics, so you should be fine with this purpose, as long as you don't abuse it.

The SIG uses a motion activation system to turn on the red dot. The system seems to work well and I have no problem with trust.
The brightness of the point is controlled manually. Romeo Zero offers 8 manually adjustable brightness levels. Two models are available: one with a 3 MOA point and one with a larger 6 MOA point.
